Welcome from Professor Ashley Blom, Vice President and Head of the Faculty of Health

I am delighted to share this opportunity to transform cancer research at Sheffield. As a cancer research leader, you will contribute to our university vision: to deliver life-enhancing research, innovation and education that not only transform the lives of our graduates, but shape the world we live in. This vision is underpinned by four equally important pillars: Research, Innovation, Education, and One University.

You will be a champion of collaboration and will work closely with Jim Catto, cancer research strategy lead, and our academic theme leads, as well as our wider community of cancer researchers here at Sheffield. The University of Sheffield was founded more than a century ago. Our leading researchers focus on making a difference by finding solutions to some of the greatest challenges we face. From pioneering new treatments for life-threatening diseases and helping us to live healthier lives for longer – the work we do matters.

If you share our ambitions and drive to make a positive difference, we would be delighted to talk to you.
